Background

I am a software engineer who enjoys working on challenging and ambitious projects that create shared value for businesses, customers, and the public. I am proficient in various technologies, with expertise in modern web apps built using Ruby on Rails and JavaScript. My experience includes work across both front-end and back-end disciplines, and my strengths include system design, performance improvement, and product strategy.

My professional experience started with military service in the Army infantry, including multiple combat deployments to Afghanistan. From there, I transitioned to system analysis for a large Department of Defense contractor. After seeking a formal computer science education and teaching myself web development, I began my career as a software engineer in 2019. Since then, I have worked on challenging, high-impact projects across both the public and private sectors. I thrive on building products that customers love.

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, gardening, and tinkering with various side projects. My most prized possessions include my large (and growing) anti-library, which contains high-quality nonfiction books spanning multiple domains and classic science fiction books. If I'm not reading a book or building something cool, I might be watching MLB, UFC, LaLiga, or F1.
